Maple - Brandywine
Brandywine Maple | Acer rubrum 'Brandywine'

Plant Description
‘Brandywine’ Red Maple is a refined hybrid developed by the U.S. National Arboretum from Acer rubrum ‘October Glory®’ and ‘Autumn Flame’. It produces only sterile flowers in spring, eliminating messy fruit and unwanted seedlings. This medium-sized shade tree is valued for its strong oval crown, notable resistance to leafhopper, and exceptional fall color. Autumn color develops gradually, shifting from red to a rich, brilliant reddish purple. Adaptable to a wide range of site conditions, it performs best in slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils and is well suited for lawns, streets, highways, and park plantings.
