Plant Description

A striking ornamental tree noted for producing some of the largest flower heads in its species. A sister seedling of Limelight®, Phantom® features significantly stronger stems that easily support its massive blooms. Flowers emerge white, often flushed with lime green, and gradually mature to a rich deep pink. Highly valued as a cut flower, this hydrangea prefers average to moist soils and performs exceptionally well in urban environments, showing strong tolerance to pollution.

At A Glance

    Height (8–10 ft.)
Reaches a mature height of 8 to 10 feet, making it an excellent small flowering tree for focal points, patios, and mixed landscape beds.

    Spread (8–10 ft.)
Develops an equally wide spread, creating a full, well-proportioned canopy.

    Shape (Upright spreading)
Exhibits an upright, spreading form with strong branching that supports large flower clusters without drooping.

Exposure (Full Sun to Part Shade)

Medium green leaves provide a clean, attractive backdrop for the oversized blooms throughout the growing season.

    Fall Foliage (Insignificant)
Fall foliage color is minimal, with the plant’s primary ornamental value coming from its flowers rather than autumn leaf color.

    Hardiness Zone (USDA Zones 4–8)
Reliably hardy in Zones 4 through 8, adapting well to a wide range of climates and urban conditions.
